Bobber fishing

Hello fisherman,
Since, the weather's warmed up I went bobber fishin' at my local pond, using some night crawlers and a small hooks. I let the hook hang down from the bobber about 18 inches, I would flick out the bait about 8-12 feet from shore and wait till the bobber went down. I caught two crappie, good sized ones too. I also caught about 4 bluegill. Bass are still slow, waiting for summer to get them active. Hope you guys are having a good spring.
Keep fishing!

3 POUNDER!!!!

Hey fisherman!
Two weeks ago I set out to fish for some bass in the blustery, cold wind, for the first time at my local pond. Water temps are low, in the low fifties is my guess, because I didn't get as many hits as I wanted, but I did get a bass! Trying out some new bright green large spinner baits, the ones I used in Florida. If it can catch a bass down there, it must have a chance of catching them up here 'round DC. I was working a narrower part of the pond, 'bout fifteen yards wide. I casted within three feet of the other bank, closed my bail and started twitching. I reached the middle of the pond and changed direction. I reeled twice more when I felt a tug. I watch my line tighten as it slowly moved to the right. The bass had the bait in its mouth and was taking it away! I set the hook HARD and strapped in for a fight. She lept in the air a numerous amount of times, showing off her spawning belly and that big ole mouth of hers. When I finally tired her out enough to get her to the bank I bent over and lipped her. I set her down on the bank to snap a photo. As you can see in the picture she had a good size belly, my guess she is about 15-16 inches long and 'bout 3lbs. I let her go and that was the only fish I caught that day.

FLORIDA Bass Fishing!!!

Hello Everyone,
Just recently I paid a visit to the old Sunshine State, yep that's rite, Florida baby! I found a good bass fishing guide for the expedition because I've only fished for bass in little ponds, I'm fishing on a lake down here and there are some pigs to be caught. We set out from the dock on a three person rowboat, couple a spinning rods and our hooks of course. I thought it was going to be a total waster of time but the guide was persistent and knew working the shoreline was the smart move, even though I clearly said deeper water was best. First half of the trip we came up dry. I switched to a spinner bait and worked my magic off the shelf. When she hit I almost fell out of the boat I set the hook so hard. Seriously. She fought very well, I tired her out before we tried to lip her. When she came up to the boat I then realized how big she was. Five pounder baby! The guide was like "good fish" like it was nothing. I asked "What is the average for this lake?" "4 or 5 pounds" he replies. I lifted the fish out of the water with my mouth agape, 1) I was astounded by the size of the fish and 2) that this was an average size. The fish was thick and had a spawners belly, fat and full! Snapped a few photos and bam we were done, I gave her a good revamping and let her go. It was a great experience because I also caught two more one pounders and also hooked up with at least an eight pounder, or at least the guide thought it was.

Early Spring Bass'n

Hello Outdoor Enthusiast's,
It's been a while but one thing has not changed, I still love to fish! Last summer I caught many Bluefish and bottom fish. I even placed 2nd in a surf fishing tournament with a 16 inch Bluefish from the surf. I believe I was throwing a whole mullet rig with a finger mullet hooked on. Even though the wind was whipping I could tell a fish was on because my line was moving north with the current so I thought a Bluefish must've picked it up and was carrying it. I set the hook and bam! I got me a Tournament winner! Haha!
Keep on fishing!
